Amazing!

Last night's sunset was one of the most incredible sights I have ever seen. This beach is a two minute drive from my home. Oh lucky me!

Questions and Answers!

I was invited by the folks over at Patience Brewster to participate in a Q&A artist spotlight! Patience, is an artist who does amazing work and is best known for her whimsical Christmas ornaments

Here are my answers to the Q&A:

1. As a child, do you recall a significant moment when you felt truly
affected or inspired by any particular artwork or artist?

My grandmother had a painting that hung on her wall in her living room. It was a winter scene with a lovely tree-lined country road that led to a white wooden church. I felt peace when I looked at it and I wanted to paint like that myself. I did create several paintings of churches when I became an adult and winter scenes are one of my favorite things to paint.

 2. As an artist, what do you hope to convey with your work?

That there is beauty in absolutely everything and to inspire others to create.

3. What memorable responses have you had to your work?

I was at an art exhibition with other artists showing my work a few years ago and a girl came up to me and asked if I was Gina Cuff. I said that I was and she went on to tell me that my painting, a watercolor of some beach rocks, was amazing and that she was so inspired by my work. I hadn't been showing that long and her sincerity really touched my heart. I do get messages from people all the time telling me they love what I do, but I'll always remember her response to me and how it changed how I viewed myself.

4. What is your dream project?

I don't have a dream project, not really. It would be fun to share some creative time with other artists but I enjoy working in my studio on my own. I certainly wouldn't turn down an interesting opportunity if it presented itself to me.

5. What artists, of any medium, do you admire? (Famous or not!)

I love all mediums and I've tried most of them, however, oil remains my favorite. Vincent Van Gogh, William Bouguereau, Carl Larsson are some of my favorite painters. Susan Lenart Kazmer, Richard Salley and Nina Bagley are three jewelry artists whose work I admire very much.

Resin Pendant!

Oh my goodness! Where did the month of August go? It was such an amazing month in many ways. The weather was gorgeous and made up for the dismal July we had, and it looks like September will be lovely.
This is a new resin pendant I will soon be listing in my Etsy Shop. These are so much fun to make.
